0.9.1

The first public beta of EmulLab: turn camera-scanned film into finished photos on your Mac. It's free, and your scans never leave your Mac.

Convert

  • Color negatives, black and white and slides, balanced off the film border, with the picture cropped out of the rebate automatically.
  • Analyze Roll keeps exposure and color consistent across a whole roll; Sync, Paste Settings… and Sync Settings… copy the look to other frames, all of it or only the parts you tick.
  • Lab Looks with film-stock names, your own presets, and a white balance eyedropper for anything that should be gray.

Edit

  • Tone, levels, curves, HSL, color grading, sharpening, grain and vignette, with Before/After.
  • Crop, straighten (draw along a line), rotate and flip.
  • Heal dust, hairs and scratches by hand, or let Find Likely Dust mark specks for you to check first; Clone copies from where you choose.

Organize and export

  • Ratings, color labels, tags, Projects and Smart Folders, with search across your library or a folder.
  • Rename Frames, and file names under every photo.
  • Export TIFF, JPEG or PNG, a whole roll at once, or a contact sheet.

Capture

  • Tethered capture over USB, tested with the Nikon Z 9, plus a watched folder for any camera or tethering app. Live view is a beta, Z 9 only.

Help

  • Short first-time tips for converting, slides and positives, Roll Analysis, healing and capture (Help › Replay Training), tooltips across the app, and the manual at emullab.com/manual.

This is a beta: some things will be rough. Tell us what you find with Help › Send Feedback or at support@emullab.com.
